ShopBot is committed to helping customers dive into and get comfortable with CNC. We’re excited to introduce this series of step-by-step projects that allow you to work at your own pace and that you can refer back to at any time. Follow our instructors’ videos and copy what they do - make the project a second time and change things up — customize it by modifying the design, add decorative elements, test out different bits or materials.
While making this project, you’ll cover positioning and hold down material, changing and zeroing bits, review creating files in VCarve Pro, running toolpath files, cleaning up parts, and then you’ll assemble your own Bluebird House.
All skill levels are welcome. This training is suggested for those who have recently completed the ShopBot Basic Training class and for people wanting to hone basic CNC skills.w
The project page contains information about tools and supplies. There is a project kit available to purchase for this project in the online store. The kit is not required to access and create the project. Take me to the Bluebird House Project!
Import and modify files to create a chess set for your own “Queen’s Gambit” experience. While making this project you’ll cover scaling designs, adjusting slots for material thickness and size, you’ll use HDPE or wood to learn about hold down techniques, and brush up on tips for running the ShopBot. In the end, you’ll have a set of 3D chess pieces that can flat pack and be put away easily.
All skill levels are welcome. This training is suggested for those who have recently completed the ShopBot Basic Training class and for people wanting to hone basic CNC skills.
