These live online sessions are great for refreshing your CNC skills, learning something new, and most importantly,
asking questions you have about using your tool. You can also access archived sessions and other videos.
Many of the people that work at ShopBot have tools in their own home workshops and they're able to share
some of their methods for using both hardware and software to work on projects.
The Virtual ShopBot Workshop is not only the place we provide that information for your reference,
it's where you can take a peek at some of their home workshops themselves,
and learn a bit more about what's going on with ShopBot,
both at our facility in Durham, NC and in other places around the country.
Virtual ShopBot Workshop live events are currently on hiatus.
The relaunch of Camp ShopBot has been put on hold for now. In the meantime, Bill Young will be doing “Virtual Editions." This one is about Digital Construction.
Ryan Patterson takes you through the completion of the parts for the project started in Session 1 (Fusion 360: Getting Started). He’ll then show you how to create it as an assembly to test functionality. (Session 2 of 4)
Ryan Patterson continues his series using Fusion 360. In this installment, he creates toolpaths in Fusion 360. He then demos how to export a drawing and import it into Vectric software. (Session 3 of 4)
Ryan Patterson demonstrates how to place an existing part/object on the bed of your tool, align your drawing file properly, and then machine the component accurately.
Follow-up video to Bill Young’s “Medical Mask ‘Ear Savers’ Project.” He has now ramped up and is doing larger scale production of the plastic ear savers.
Bill Young was inspired by a 3D printer version of these “ear savers” used by medical professionals (and others) to ease the ear pain caused by wearing face masks for long periods of time.
Bill Young and Jeanne Taylor collaborate on a custom rolling pins project. Hear how the project went from two different perspectives, the Fabber and the Designer.

Ryan Patterson takes you through how to create tools for your own database. He also shares some tips for choosing the right bit for your material and talks about Feeds and Speeds.
With a little push from a person with clout in the Young household (aka Bill’s wife), Bill Young finds himself making a new welcome sign for the town he lives in.
