Today, Wednesday, March 25th, the Mayor of the City of Durham, NC (the home of ShopBot Tools) has issued a “Stay-at-Home” order beginning Thursday, March 26th at 6pm lasting through April 30th. With this being put into effect, ShopBot Tools will be closed to the public. While our on-site offerings will be limited during this period of time, many of our employees are working remotely and are available to help you during normal business hours via phone and email.
Additionally, with the establishment of a national state of emergency, we have taken the following actions:
We have made the difficult decision to cancel all training sessions scheduled to take place at our facility in Durham, NC throughout the months of March and April. We have emailed all of those people that have been signed up for training during that time period with information regarding rescheduling. In the meantime, we’re making use of our time to post new, informative content online via a variety of channels including YouTube and Facebook. We also encourage you to take advantage of the many online resources available to you on our website. ShopBot has several training videos online, as well as a web page catalog of ready-to-go projects. Vectric, makers of VCarve Pro and Aspire, also have a variety of online resources available. And don’t forget to keep an eye out for what other ShopBotters are doing and posting to social media via the feed on our website.
Production Support Services (PSS)
We have made the difficult decision to postpone all PSS appointments. If you currently have an on-site installation, maintenance call, and/or training scheduled for your facility, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 888-680-4466 to reschedule.
If you are in need of immediate assistance in the set-up of your tool or on a particular project, please contact us via email at email@example.com or call us at 888-680-4466 so that we can explore the option of setting up a virtual/video appointment for you with a member of the ShopBot Team. We want to do what we can to help get you up and running, but do so in a way that protects both our staff and you, while working to limit the spread of COVID-19.
The CDC has specific guidelines for keeping the workplace, schools, and home as safe as possible. We have implemented a rolling work schedule for our employees, including a work from home option for those that can work remotely, in order to limit the number of people at our facility each day.
Following the advice of public health officials, ShopBot encourages our staff and visitors to practice healthy hygiene habits to help prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses like COVID-19, such as washing hands frequently, covering coughs and sneezes, avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth, and staying home if sick.
For the protection of our employees and for the protection of your staff, we would request that all vendor meetings be handled either via a phone call or through a web meeting if at all possible.
The health and safety of our people, as well as our customers and business partners, are always our top priority. We support, and will follow, the latest recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and we are continuously monitoring the external situation and additional guidance provided from other governing bodies in order to adjust our actions. We expect the COVID-19 situation to continue to be dynamic and we will need to be agile, fully knowledgeable, and adaptive to the situation.
