VisEdit - Visual Editor for ShopBot® Part Files
|
VisEdit combines a feature rich editor with toolpath
simulation software, specifically designed around Shopbot CNC Part
Files (.sbp format). Putting these tools together allows the user to create and modify
part files while getting immediate feedback from the simulation,
promoting quick file creation and development for those creating or
modifying Part Files without design software. Problems in toolpaths can
also be pin-pointed, tested and fixed immediately. VisEdit allows the
user a broad range of customization in many different areas including
the code editor, the simulation preview, printing and much more.
|
VisEdit was developed by a ShopBotter for
other ShopBotters. It works just like you would imagine it would
- considering the name. It allows you to "visually" edit Part
Files for your ShopBot. You simply load or create a part file in
the editor window on the left, and then you can visually inspect
the graphical representation of what the toolpath will look like
on the right. The quick and easy process of manually editing the
code and viewing the output, can be repeated and refined, until
the desired results are achieved. |

VisEdit was built with customization in
mind. Everything from the syntax coloring, to the exact layout
of the view can be modified by the user and saved for future
use. Not everyone uses an editor or a simulation preview in the
same way, so we made sure VisEdit lets you customize these tools
the way you want. There is also a plug-in section that you can
use to help generate code. This was built with an open
architecture to support user plug-ins or enhancements. You can
also attach user-defined plug-in routines to the code-insert
functionality to quickly extend the power and functionality of
the editor. |
