PRSstandard CNC Router

A CNC tool that rivals the performance of any CNC machine under $20,000 (except our PRSalpha, of course). ShopBot PRSstandard tools use "open loop" stepper motors with low-backlash gearheads. These are the motors that were used in our products until the introduction of our PRSalpha systems. The ShopBot Control System is the same system that in 5 years became the leading affordable CNC for shops around the world. Before Placing Your Order

Electrical -- The PRSstandard Control Box runs from a 110/220VAC (50-60Hz), 15Amp circuit.  You will usually be able to power your computer from the same circuit.  Your router/spindle, and other accessories, will require a separate circuit.  You will need to know about the electrical service to your shop to plan for these accessories. 
Router or Spindle -- ShopBots are configured for either router or spindle.  So you will need to specify your choice at the time you order your ShopBot.  Give us a call for help with this decision [and see Router/Spindle].
Computer Requirements -- You need a PC with an available USB port that is running Windows XP(pro) or Vista(small business; or higher) . At minimum: Pentium 800 MHz, 512M RAM, Graphics display 1024x768 for the shop (this resolution optimally uses screen). For your design computer (if you use a separate computer) a resolution of 1280 x 1024 or higher will work well. If your shop computer will not be networked, an additional USB port for transferring files using USB memory stick is very useful.
Shipping -- ShopBots are shipped as four modules (Table, X-rails, X & Y carriages, Z-axis) ready for straightforward assembly.  Shipments are crated and banded onto a single pallet and ShopBot will arrange shipment by truck to your shop or facility.  You will need to discuss several aspects of shipping with us. 
International -- We sell and ship ShopBots internationally and manufacture them configured to local requirements.  The PRTstandard Control Box will usually adapt to local electrical service voltages, but you will need to plan circuits for your router/spindle and accessories.  Check with us if you have questions.  Please see our International Support page where a number of issues related to international use, sales, shipping, installation, and support are reviewed.
