ShopBot's PRSstandard CNCs are our high-performing yet affordable, gantry-based CNC router, priced at less than $20,000. Using proven ShopBot advanced technology for CNC cutting, drilling, carving and machining, the PRSstandard is the right tool for smaller shops ready to venture into CNC productivity yet don’t require high production speeds. The PRSstandard uses our proven CNC workhorses, the super-tough, open-loop stepper motors with low-backlash gear heads as well as RBK series stepper motor drivers, delivering more power, higher speeds and step resolution, and smoother cutting. The control system that runs the PRSstandard is the same full-featured controller used on all of our tools, and the leading affordable CNC controller for shops around the world. The control system software reads the new open standard for CNC code and OpenSBP as well as the older format for CNC G-Code. The latest version of our control system software is always available for free download from our web site. Best of all, as your needs and shop change, so does your CNC: you can upgrade your PRSstandard to our top-of-the-line, high-performance system by simply adding PRSalpha Control System, drives and motors.

ShopBot PRSstandard Introductory CNC Packages with Accessories
We've put together some suggested basic systems of CNC Tool and Table, as well as accessories useful in getting you quickly into production with CNC.
See suggested systemsBefore Placing Your Order
Electrical -- If you will be using a standard router, the PRSstandard Control Box can be plugged into a 110VAC (50-60Hz)*, 20Amp circuit. For spindle options, your Control Box and spindle will need a dedicated 220VAC circuit (optionally 3 phase). You will need to know about the electrical service to your shop to plan your configuration. A 220VAC Control Box will need to be wired into the electrical service by a licensed electrician. [*The voltage and configuration of the Control Box needs to be specified at time of order. Control Box voltage is not configurable by the purchaser.] Standard control box is not UL certified at this time.
Router or Spindle -- ShopBots are configured for either router or spindle. So you will need to specify your choice at the time you order your ShopBot. Give us a call for help with this decision [and see Router/Spindle]
Shipping -- ShopBots are shipped as four modules (Table, X-rails, X & Y carriages, Z-axis) ready for straightforward assembly (ShopBot Buddy systems are shipped fully assembled). Shipments are crated and banded onto a single pallet and ShopBot will arrange shipment by truck to your shop or facility. You will need to discuss several aspects of shipping with us.
International -- We sell and ship ShopBots internationally and manufacture them configured to local requirements. The PRSstandard Control Box will usually adapt to local electrical service voltages, but you will need to plan circuits for your router/spindle and accessories and the Control Box needs to be configured for these at the time of purchase. Check with us if you have questions. Please see our International Support page where a number of issues related to international use, sales, shipping, installation and support are reviewed.

Software
No computer degree is needed to run a ShopBot! Each new ShopBot includes design software packages selected and bundled for project designing and tool-pathing. If you are primarily working in sheet goods, want to do v-carvings, and/or new to CNC? You may want to start with VCarvePro ShopBot Edition. These two powerful software packages include CAD/CAM to take your ideas to project designs to tool-pathing. The ShopBot Control System software that runs your CNC is also included.
We also offer software packages for use in signmaking, cabinet making and more. Aspire by Vectric is one of our most popular—great for designing and machining carved decorative panels and doors, custom millwork, moldings, signage, dimensional logos, jewelry, custom gifts and much more.
