Videos Clips of PRSalpha CNCs in Action

PRSalpha Video Clip  -- (7M) PRSalpha cutting curved furniture parts. 3/4" MDF; 1/4" upspiral; 6"/sec cut speed; 24"/sec positioning speed; vacuum hold-down.

PRSalpha Video Clip  -- (1M) PRSalpha cutting a panel and sample curves. 3/4" MDF; 1/4" upspiral; 8"/sec cut speed; 24"/sec positioning speed; vacuum hold-down.

A PRSalpha Project:

The job required cutting multiple sheets of several different complex lattice patterns for use in walls of the set of a Broadway play. Parts were cut from 1/2" MDO with 1/4" compression cutter. Cut speed @ 6"/sec.

The sheets were held-down with vacuum.  Vacuum was sufficient to hold the larger cut-outs so they could be cut out with a single pass.  The smaller cut-outs were pocketed by cutting from the center out to prevent small pieces from flying loose.  The first two video clips show the tool cutting the larger areas; the last three clips illustrate pocketing out the smaller regions.  These parts were designed in ArtCAM, and the tool paths include a 3D ramp into the material at the beginning of each of the cut-outs.  This move produces a smoother cut and less wear on the cutter in operations like this with repetitive plunging.  [Each of the Clips is about 1M.]

PRSalpha Project Clip - a -- PRSalpha Cutting a complex lattice. This clip shows cutting parts that are large enough to cut in a single pass and be held by vacuum.
PRSalpha Project Clip - b -- PRSalpha Cutting a complex lattice. This clip shows more cutting and positioning for large parts.
PRSalpha Project Clip - c -- PRSalpha Cutting a complex lattice. In this video clip, smaller parts are being pocketed.
PRSalpha Project Clip - d -- PRSalpha Cutting a complex lattice. The dust skirt has been raised in this video clip so that the ramping and pocketing strategy can be seen more clearly.
PRSalpha Project Clip - e -- PRSalpha Cutting out the a lattice panel.
