ShopBot owners – ShopBotters – form a
unique community. A family of woodworkers, sign makers, cabinet
makers, boatbuilders, designers, luthiers, educators and
do-it-yourselfers, we take pride in our work and want others to
be successful in their endeavors. We share project ideas,
tricks, tips and stories of our successes and failures. We share
the joys of completing a new project and the frustration of not
being able to get something “just right.” To further foster that
spirit of community, ShopBot has introduced the
ShopBot Wiki [www.shopbotwiki.com].
The ShopBot Wiki is a collaborative, user-generated website
where you, the ShopBotter, can add your personal experiences and
philosophies to an ever-growing database of information. The
ShopBot Wiki allows its users to add, edit and update
information on a variety of topics. From design and control
software to materials and supplies to marketing and business
practices, there are many opportunities for you to give and take
advice on running, maintaining and staying profitable with your
ShopBot CNC.
The Wiki isn’t meant to take the place of the forum, which is
still a great place to ask questions and discuss things that you
want to work on. But, the problem with any forum is that, even
with the best search capabilities, it's hard to quickly and
easily find the answer to your questions because it's designed
for discussion and not as a reference. The wiki format was
written from the ground up to make it easy to find things...this
particular software that we're using is what the Wikipedia runs
on. We're thinking that this wiki and the ShopBot forum will
work hand-in-hand to make it easier to do things with your
ShopBot. Like all wikis, the ShopBot Wiki only works if you use
it, and use it appropriately. So, please visit the new ShopBot
Wiki, contribute often and make it your own.
