Control Software Download

The latest version
of the ShopBot Control Software is always available here for free download. This
is the software that runs ShopBot CNC Tools. With the ShopBot
Control Software, you can enter individual
commands to move the tool or run a ShopBot Part File, a cutting
file created in a CAD/CAM program such as the ShopBot PartWorks Suite, to cut out a part. If you are
interested in a test drive to check out the software, the ShopBot Control Software will run in
Preview
Mode without being connected to a ShopBot and you are welcome to
download and try it out.
Get the right version. If your control box is a
large, aluminum box, you have a PRSalpha or PRTalpha. If your control box looks like a
computer box (either beige or black), you have a PRSstandard or
PRTstandard.
For PRSalpha, PRSstandard, PRTalpha ShopBots and PRTstandards with
Version 4 or later Control Board (older PRTstandard
ShopBots and PR ShopBots, see below)
Download the installation program to
your computer, then run it to install the ShopBot Control Software. If
your outboard software is outdated, you will be prompted to reload
it when you next run the software. A readme file will display any late-breaking information at the end of the
installation process.

If you are a PRTstandard
owner upgrading to a new PRTstandard 4g board. Download and
install this software. Before plugging into your upgraded
Control Box, run the CD that came with it to install the USB
drivers. Then before you start the new ShopBot software, delete
the ShopBot.ini file from the ShopBot 3 folder because it
contains settings for your old board. You will be able to choose
a new settings file for your Version 4g during the start-up. |

ShopBot 'beta' software available for testing
... Our software development group is usually working on a new version of
the ShopBot Control software that includes new features and/or
capabilities. You
are welcome to test the current 'beta' version of the software.

For older PRT ShopBots that do not have Version 4 Boards

Download the self-extracting installation program to
your computer, then run it to install the software. If your outboard
software is outdated, you will be prompted to reload during the install. A readme file will
display any late-breaking information at the end of the installation
process. The PRTcontrol box looks like a computer CPU either beige or
black.

*It is possible to
install the DOS version on a Windows XP or 2000 computer to run in
PREVIEW mode only. To do so: change the C:\windows\temp to C:\sb200 when asked
where to unzip files. This will put everything in the SB200 directory.
You should then move all .sbp files to the SBPARTS directory.
