For the first time ever, ShopBot will move its annual Jamboree from the friendly confines of ShopBot's Durham, NC facility, 3,000 miles across the country, to the San Francisco Bay area.  Also this year, the two-day Jamboree will lead up to Make magazine's "Maker Faire", a celebration of 21st-century ingenuity and creativity.  But, as always, ShopBotters will be able to collect valuable information from a variety of experts in fields such as new ShopBot products, software, cutting bits, woodworking, sign making, unique applications and marketing for your business.

West Coast Jamboree "BOX" contest

Last year we asked our Jamboree attendees to "make some speakers" using a pair of "Soundpads," and the results of that contest were so well received by all that we are going to hold another contest at this year's event.  Only this time it's going to be a little different.
As usual we wanted to keep the rules as minimal as possible to allow as much "ingenuity/creativeness/freedom of expression" as possible.  So, here is the contest:
All entrants will use their ShopBot to make a box/container....
The above object will NOT be solid, as it must be able to contain something the size of a marble.  This means there HAS to be at least one removable "side or panel."
The entire box/container MUST fit inside a 16" cube (in other words, NO "side" can be larger than 16").
The entire project must be created with your ShopBot.
Winning entries (and we are still working on "categories" for these prizes) will be used by ShopBot for display at the Maker Faire and possibly other future events, so be SURE to KEEP your cut files in case you DO win and you want another "box" for yourself...
You can contact us at jamboree@shopbottools.com for further info, and we'll update this page as more details become available.
